Dancercise – Health, Fitness, and Weight Loss

If you look at dancers and athletes, you’ll see that they’re constantly moving their bodies in different ways. Their mix of movement forces their body to use all sorts of rotations, which helps them to stay strong and slim. Aren’t you constantly moving when you dance? Our dancercise instruction helps you learn how a rhythm fitness plan is the sure way to get on your feet and on your way to a fun and nonstop dance workout. Dance away the pounds to a lean body.

Dancercise – Dance Movement Therapy (DMT)

DMT is used with adults, children, and the elderly to provide the psychotherapeutic use of movement as a process that furthers the emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual. Many participants come from the following settings that benefit from the DMT program:

  • Mental Health
  • Disease Prevention
  • Rehabilitation
  • Medical Settings
  • Schools
  • Nursing Homes
  • Day Treatment Facilities
  • Day Car Centers
  • Prisons
  • Health Promotion

Dance and Therapy working in concert will help with the recovery of injured athletes, accident victims, post surgery patients, orthopedic challenges, elderly health promotion, and much more.

Texas Ballet Theater Faces Financial Trouble
Monday August 18, 2008
The Texas Ballet Theater needs to raise $1 million to $1.5 million over the next two months to avoid possibly closing its doors after 47 years of operation. The ballet cancelled an October trip to China because it could not raise enough money for the trip. The ballet revealed that it has unpaid bills reaching $800,000. Ballet chairwoman Robin Arena said that even though fundraising in Dallas has been difficult, it will be key to a new fundraising initiative.
Known for its graceful and exciting performances, the Texas Ballet Theater, formerly the Fort Worth Dallas Ballet, is the only fully professional ballet company in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
